Down south

A moment of solitude on the station.

Buy some of my green chilly, it's gonna surely do you in!

Surya caressing the interior.

Enchanting atmosphere in the temple.

Either you want green or yellow, bananas make you happppy :-)

Madurai temple ceiling... orgy of colours.

New kids on the block.

Come my friend, I'll take u 4 a ride.

Substantial Tamil lunch: rice and curry in a hurry.

One of the four entrances of the main temple in Madurai.

Check this man...I've found a Magyar rickshaw.

The "Venice" of India Allepy. Well I don't know about Venice, but it is a pleasent place to relax by the canal side.

Tea, spices and 'shrooms..

Load is ready... let's go down to the Kerala shore.

Wow man... we are walking inside of it.

So this is Munnar. Where are all those Tea plantations everyone is talking about?

I guess he is Popy with an umbrella...

The jungle of Vatakanal, the secret growing area of the mushrooms that posses magical qualities.

We got our heads in the clouds

The vegetation here is so alive, it almost speaks

Looks like cooking, but this is the bathing water for three people.

Next stop is Kodaikanal. We got here just after a big laundry session.

Leaving the sacred hill.

Heavy burden to carry up the over 50 steps of the temple.

Tonnes of offerings on the ground, even live stock.

We got to this city called Pallani. We did not regret it. It's temple life is quite a scene.

Most of Indian city rivers look more or less similar... swimming only for the brave ones.

Interior of a gay looking chai shop.

Hangin' with the gals.

We all are the sons and daughters of the Almighty.

But the local market still has all the wonderful "canned sunlight"veggies to keep us going.

Well after all these hot summery places, we ventured up to 2700 meter in the Nilgiri Hills. Shockingly chilly dawn at the Otty bus stop.

Hampi rocks!!

All right, let's head down to Tamil Nadu.

Yes indeed.

The "tastefully" decorated Hanuman temple interior.

Eye to eye with mighty Ganesh...

Weaving carpet... and trying it straight away :-)

The late descendants of Hanuman.

They came from fare away to give their offerings to the deities.

According to Hindu legends, this is the birthplace of Hanuman the monkey faced god.

The prehistoric terrain of the Hampi region...

Symbiosis of species.

To all of you from Karnataka :-)

The creator of the best Veg' tali in Hampi.

Brahmins after poja.

No one is in the hurry...( with the old aqua-duct in the back)

Harmonious village life..

The modest interior of our new-found casita.

....shall be found. And so it has been.

A proud stone miner.

The little hidden cottage in the middle of unspoiled nature that we have found and managed to squat while here.

This is Hampi, the former capital of the Vijayanagara empire,
with the main entrance of Virupaksha temple.
